DIRECTORY STANDARD · VERSION 1.0

What belongs in
the index.

E-commerce Index covers operating ecommerce storefronts within a specific country market. Domain-email verification establishes control of an address; it does not guarantee inclusion, endorsement or a ranking position.

Three separate decisionsEligibleThe website meets the storefront and market requirements.VerifiedAn authorized representative controls a matching business email.ObservedECIndex has measured public website evidence.

A listing must represent an operating ecommerce business, not simply discuss ecommerce, products or shopping.

  • Public storefrontThe website is reachable and presents an identifiable store, marketplace or direct-to-consumer business.
  • Commercial catalogueCustomers can browse identifiable products or clearly defined purchasable services.
  • Ordering routeA cart, checkout, order form, booking flow, quotation path or documented purchasing method is available.
  • Commercial evidencePrices, offers or another credible commercial proposition can be independently observed.
  • Country relevanceLocal operations, delivery, currency, contact details or other credible evidence connects the business to the selected country.
  • Classifiable identityThere is enough public evidence to identify the business and assign a reliable primary category.

These websites may be legitimate, but they do not presently qualify as ecommerce stores in a country index.

Editorial publications

Blogs, magazines, affiliate-content sites, tutorials and shopping guides without their own storefront.

Incomplete websites

Parked domains, placeholder pages, unavailable websites and stores still under construction.

Insufficient commerce evidence

No observable products, commercial offer, price, ordering route, cart, checkout or equivalent purchasing method.

No market evidence

The website does not demonstrate operations, delivery or another meaningful connection to the selected country.

Duplicate identity

The domain duplicates, redirects to or impersonates an existing listing without establishing a separate storefront.

Unreliable identity

Material business, authorization or commercial claims cannot be reconciled with public evidence.

03 · PROHIBITED BUSINESSES

Not accepted.

ECIndex does not knowingly list or rank businesses whose primary activity falls within the following categories. This boundary applies even when a domain email is verified.

01

Adult and sexual commerce

Pornographic services, sex toys, sexual-wellness stores, escort services, fetish products and other primarily adult or sexually explicit commerce.

02

Gambling and betting

Casinos, sportsbooks, betting services, lotteries, slot-game businesses and related gambling operations.

03

Clearly unlawful goods

Illegal narcotics, unlawful weapons, counterfeit identity documents, stolen credentials and prohibited trafficking activity.

04

Fraud and cybercrime services

Carding, malware, ransomware, credential theft, account hacking and services primarily designed to facilitate fraud or unlawful access.

ECIndex may hold or remove a listing when credible evidence indicates prohibited activity, material deception or a significant legal or safety concern. Absence from the index is not a legal judgment about a business.

What business-email verification means

It confirms that the submitter accessed a verification message sent to an address using the submitted website’s domain. It does not authenticate every business claim, confirm legal compliance, establish product authenticity or guarantee publication.

Independent editorial decision

ECIndex compares the submission with publicly observable evidence. An approved store can later be corrected, held or removed if its website changes or contrary evidence appears.

Clear decisions

Verified submitters receive an approval or rejection decision by email. Rejections identify the applicable criterion and retain an internal audit record.

Correction and reconsideration

A business may reply with new public evidence or submit again after launching the missing storefront or country-market functionality.
