Terms of
use.

The rules that apply when you browse, submit to or otherwise use E-commerce Index.

Effective and last updated · 14 July 2026
Rankings are evidence-led opinions

Scores are informational comparisons, not audited traffic figures, financial advice, endorsements or guarantees of a store’s quality.

1. Acceptance

These terms form an agreement between you and Novator Technologies (SMC-Private) Limited, the operator of E-commerce Index. By using the service, you agree to these terms and our Privacy Policy. If you use it for an organization, you confirm you have authority to bind that organization.

2. How the index works

E-commerce Index collects public technical and market signals and applies an evolving methodology. Early baseline scores are directional. Observed scores may change as sites, evidence, categories and methods change. We aim for accuracy and explainability, but information can be incomplete, delayed or wrong.

Listing a business does not imply affiliation, sponsorship or endorsement by either party. Store names, marks and content belong to their respective owners.

3. Acceptable use

You may browse and reference the service for lawful personal or business research. You may not:

  • Interfere with the service, evade access limits or probe non-public systems.
  • Use automation at a volume that degrades availability.
  • Manipulate rankings or submit deceptive ownership or business information.
  • Copy or resell a substantial portion of the database without written permission.
  • Use the service to violate law, privacy, intellectual property or other rights.
  • Misrepresent our scores as audited facts, official statistics or endorsements.

4. Submissions, claims and corrections

You are responsible for information and evidence you submit and must have permission to provide it. You grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, reproduce and use that material to operate, verify and improve the index.

We may accept, reject, edit or remove a submission; request verification; and act against manipulation. Businesses may request factual corrections or review, but inclusion, category and rank remain editorial and methodological decisions.

5. Intellectual property and feedback

E-commerce Index’s design, original text, scoring framework, software and compilation are owned by Novator Technologies (SMC-Private) Limited or its licensors and protected by applicable law. These terms give you a limited, revocable right to use the service; they do not transfer ownership.

If you provide ideas or feedback, we may use them without restriction or compensation, while respecting personal information under our Privacy Policy.

6. Disclaimers and liability

The service is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim implied warranties including accuracy, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not control or take responsibility for indexed or linked third-party websites.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Novator Technologies (SMC-Private) Limited and its team will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or lost-profit damages arising from the service. Where liability cannot be excluded, our total liability will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us for the service in the prior 12 months or PKR 10,000. Nothing excludes liability that law does not allow us to exclude.

7. General terms

We may change, suspend or discontinue features and may restrict access for violation of these terms or risk to the service. We may update these terms; continued use after the effective date means you accept the revised terms.

These terms are governed by the laws of Pakistan. Courts with competent jurisdiction in Pakistan will have jurisdiction, except where mandatory consumer law provides otherwise.

If any provision is unenforceable, the rest remains effective. Questions can be sent to hello@ecindex.org.
